Social Inclusion, Youth Employment and Poverty Reduction - Personalized Skills - (Skills on Demand)

The project "Social Inclusion, Youth Employment and Poverty Reduction - Personalized Skills" promotes the employment of vulnerable, unemployed residents of the Municipality of Athens through a holistic program of information, training and certification. The program also offers personalized psychosocial and professional support as well as the placement of beneficiaries in jobs. The main goal of the project is to find employment, people who have recently entered unemployment status.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the "Local Development and Poverty Reduction" program of the European Economic Area (EEA Grants), with the implementing agency being the Development & Tourism Promotion Company of the Municipality of Athens E.A.T.A. S.A.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of the project are:

a) supporting the reintegration of beneficiaries into the labor market,

b) the systematic recognition and coverage of the needs displayed by the labor market at the local level and

c) the overall strengthening of the capacity of the Municipality of Athens in terms of empowering and supporting vulnerable social groups through employment, while its actions will aim:

  • To recognize the needs of businesses in terms of jobs and in terms of the skills of staff operating at a local level
  • To develop relevant educational programs that meet the needs of businesses and offer them to the beneficiaries of the project via an online platform.
  • To provide personalized professional counseling and psychosocial support to beneficiaries / people belonging to vulnerable social groups.
  • To connect the beneficiaries of the project with the needs of businesses in terms of jobs and to actively support their employment.
  • To support businesses, with consulting services to maintain jobs and to create an active network between participating businesses.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

The project will include, among others, the following:

  • The evaluation of the needs of the labor market as the training of the beneficiaries will be developed in a targeted manner around the skills that are missing from the labor market.
  • Cooperation and communication with local businesses in order to create a Network of local businesses with identified needs.
  • The selection of vulnerable unemployed residents of the Municipality of Athens who will benefit from the services. The beneficiaries will be selected through transparent procedures and with respect to the principles of equal treatment and non-discrimination.
  • The provision of certified training and psychosocial and work support to vulnerable unemployed people. The design of the methodology, the training and the development of educational programs, as well as the delivery of the educational activities will be done by selected academics, educators and educational institutions that present specific and valuable experience in their field.
  • The creation of a platform to monitor the different activities and results of the project, but also to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform in order to maintain it even after the end of the project and to utilize its results.
  • Recruitment of trained and certified unemployed by companies.
